Pizza is a touchy subject in Buffalo, but as far as Pizza ,subs and
wings go I have to put my personal vote in for a local favorite in my
neighborhood, Metro Pizza.
This little establishment on Clinton st., bordering kaisertowne, is
literally a hole in the wall. You could probably drive by it a million
times and never think twice about stopping in.
This pizza has a thick soft crust which they cook perfectly. The wings
are in fact authentic buffalo wings. If you have a visitor coming from
out of town and they have never had an authentic buffalo wing, I would
take them here. If you do not like soggy buffalo wings loaded in sauce
and prefer them crispy ask for them Fried Hard. ;)
A few drawbacks of Metro Pizza... Call before you order. There are no
tables inside and there is very limited parking outside. On a normal
day you can pick up your food in about 20-25 minutes varying on weekends
and game days.
As far as the service the employees wear gloves when handling all food,
and their hair is pulled back out of their face. Unless they are busy,
usually the employees are very friendly.
There have been issues with people returning food because the employees
do not take the time to listen to the order, so be sure to ask for them
to repeat the order back to you.
